Twitter is continuing its campaign to be a web3 pioneer for this week. Initial reports from established frontend developer Jane Manchun Wong indicate that a new web3 blockchain-based cryptocurrency wallet is on the horizon for the social networking company.
The officials of social media networks have not as yet confirmed or mentioned news about the wallet’s creation on this platform. Likewise, the wallet is expected to serve as both a deposit and cryptocurrency exchange but details regarding initial token support have yet to be revealed.
Since Twitter’s founding, president and CEO Parag Agrawal (as Dorsey has since moved on to fintech company Block) has dedicated numerous resources to promoting the platform’s presence in the area of cryptocurrencies.
The company is going through a major crisis, both from a looming Aramco buyout and a considerable crypto boom. Twitter, of course, has launched crypto efforts based on hexagonal profile pics for NFT holders.
